Little Me
Little Me was created on black illustration board with Prisma color pencils in 2024.
For my self-portrait duo, I decided to select a reference from childhood to recreate. I chose to avoid background elements and allow the color, texture, and movement, as well as the simplicity when interacting with Big Me, the second piece in the duo, to create visual impact
This piece was accepted to the 2025 University of Indianapolis Juried Student Exhibition and remained on display for two weeks.
Big Me
Big Me was created on black illustration board with Prisma color pencils in 2024.
For the second installation of this duo, I selected a reference from early adulthood to counter the simplicity and youth of Little Me, the first piece. While I maintained a similar texture in this piece, I chose to add a fern to both the background and foreground. As the references for these two pieces were roughly 20 years apart, my goal for Big Me was to display more depth, complexity, and vibrance.
